Description:

In One for the Wicked, the thrilling finale to Karina Cooper’s Dark Mission series, New Seattle’s witches will rise again...or fall forever.

Shawn Lowe has one mission: to get the cure for what’s killing the city’s witches from Dr. Kayleigh Lauderdale, the daughter of his chief nemesis. He knew the job would be difficult, but what he didn’t count on was their instant, undeniable attraction, a burning desire that neither one can control.

Sexy and satisfying, imaginative and atmospheric, One for the Wicked is a racy page-turner filled with nonstop action and plenty of passion, sure to please  fans of paranormal romance.

Dr. Kayleigh Lauderdale possesses the only cure for what’s killing New Seattle’s witches. Desperate to acquire it, the resistance sends their best agent, but Shawn Lowe has his own agenda and it doesn’t include saving anyone—least of all, the daughter of his sworn enemy. He has to ignore the blistering attraction he feels the instant they meet, can’t give in until he gets what he wants. He just never counted on wanting her…

Kayleigh can’t believe how out of control Shawn makes her feel. He lies to her with one breath and excites her beyond reason the next. A reckless encounter could steal her heart, but the devastating plans of an old enemy may prove too much for either Kayleigh or Shawn to handle. When the world turns upside down, it will take everything they have to hold on… to life, to hope, to each other.

 GUEST POST

Revenge: When Life Has Other Plans
When it comes to reasons to hate someone, “murdered parents” ranks pretty high up there. Shawn Lowe thinks he’s got it all figured out. With a one-man rivalry going down, it’s easy for him to ascribe all kinds of terrible characteristics to the family he’s sworn to hate.

Except then life throws him a bone, he gets his hands on the Lauderdale scion, and nothing is even remotely playing out the way it’s supposed to.

What do you do when the person you’re all ready to hate ends up being... likable? I mean, really likable? Kind of sweet and endearing, and smart, and sort of innocent in all the ways that really goes to a guy’s protective urges.

What do you do when you find out the woman you’ve told yourself to hate ends up pushing all the right buttons? Or, well, wrong buttons?

Poor Shawn. Poor all of us, who have experienced that shift. The saying goes, “The best laid schemes of mice and men often go awry,” and we’ve all felt that, haven’t we? If only life were so black and white! We could tell ourselves, “This shall happen,” and we make it so. How precise our lives would be.

Yet just like Shawn, forced to alter his plans when he doesn’t convince himself it’s not necessary, we aren’t in charge of the craziness that is life.

If Kayleigh Lauderdale can get under his skin just by smiling, what chance does he have pulling off this epic revenge plot? Are the stakes worth it? Are the consequences?

When I was graduating high school, I had plans for myself: find a career that would make me happy, travel all over, live free—none of it included getting married. Yet life put the mancandy in my way, and when I was done picking myself up from the floor after tripping on him, it was ten years later and we were married. I found that career, but only after I tried other careers I thought I’d like more—and failed dismally. No, I don’t travel much. In exchange for setting aside my nomadic leanings, I found a partner and a friend willing to stick by me.

What about you? Have you ever made plans that could affect the course of your life and found that life didn’t get the memo? What did you do?
